Design & Build Quality:
First off, let’s talk about the design. The Vivo X200 Pro is an absolute tank. This phone feels heavy. When I stick it in my pocket, it’s like carrying around a brick. If you’re into sleek and light phones, this might not be your cup of tea. But there’s something undeniably satisfying about how substantial it feels in hand, a hallmark of many flagship devices.
From the front, the X200 Pro looks very familiar—think Oppo Find X8 Pro or OnePlus 11. You’ve got that quad-curved screen, which slopes gently on all four sides, giving it a futuristic, floating feel. The bezels are thin, and the small selfie cam punch-hole keeps the display looking clean. The brushed metal frame is a nice touch, too—it’s shiny but surprisingly resistant to smudges, unlike most other phones in this price range.
However, the back is a different story. While the frosted glass looks stylish, it’s definitely prone to grease marks, and it’s fairly slippery, making it easy to drop. But don’t worry—the massive camera bump serves a functional purpose. It’s so large that it doubles as a finger shelf, offering a bit of extra grip when holding the phone one-handed. Still, don’t expect it to stay in your hand for long without a case.
Speaking of colors, the Vivo X200 Pro comes in three variants: Titanium, Black, and Blue. As for durability, Vivo has done a great job here. No scratches, scuffs, or nicks in the time I’ve spent with it, and it’s even IP69-rated for water resistance, meaning it can survive being dropped in the sink, fish tank, or jacuzzi without a problem.
Display:
The Vivo X200 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 2800 x 1260 resolution. It’s sharp, vibrant, and perfect for watching movies, playing games, or browsing photos. The screen supports HDR10+ and now even includes Vision support—something the previous X100 model was missing. You can adjust the refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz, ensuring smooth scrolling and animation.
As for audio, the X200 Pro is no slouch either. The stereo speaker setup is surprisingly loud and clear, even in noisy environments. Plus, it supports Dolby Atmos for richer, more immersive sound. You also get “super audio” modes that tweak the sound output depending on what you’re doing—whether you’re gaming or watching a movie.
Performance:
Under the hood, the Vivo X200 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset, backed by 16GB of RAM. This combination is a powerhouse. Whether you’re browsing the web, streaming content, or playing graphically intense games like Genshin Impact, this phone handles everything with ease. I cranked the settings to the highest levels, and the X200 Pro still maintained a smooth 60fps.
One of the most impressive features is how the phone manages heat. While the previous Vivo X100 had some serious heating issues after gaming for just 20-30 minutes, the X200 Pro stays relatively cool. After over an hour of gaming, it was warm to the touch, but not uncomfortably hot, which is a huge improvement.
Additionally, Vivo’s FunTouch OS adds a number of gaming optimizations, including performance boosters and visual enhancements to make your gaming experience even better. Plus, there’s a dedicated gaming mode that blocks notifications and minimizes distractions.
Battery Life: Power for Days
Now, let’s talk about that massive 6,000mAh battery. Despite the phone’s bulky size, the battery life is excellent. On most days, I ended with around 30% left after a solid 6-7 hours of mixed-use, including video streaming, light gaming, and browsing. The only time I hit 0% was after a particularly heavy day, which included an hour of gaming and a half-hour of video calls.
The battery isn’t just long-lasting—it charges quickly too. With 90W flash charging, the X200 Pro can go from 0% to 50% in just 10 minutes, and a full charge takes about 30 minutes. Wireless charging is a bit slower at 30W, but it’s still a welcome feature.
Camera
The camera setup on the Vivo X200 Pro is where things get interesting. The main sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX 818, which delivers solid results, especially in low light. The 50MP ultra-wide sensor is sharp and detailed, while the 200MP telephoto lens is the real star of the show.
I was genuinely impressed with the zoom capabilities. The telephoto lens gives you incredible detail at up to 100x zoom, and even in low light, it produces surprisingly clear and sharp images. Portrait shots are excellent as well, with accurate eye autofocus and plenty of bokeh effects to play with.
Video quality is top-notch too. You can shoot in 4K at 120fps or 8K at 30fps, and the stabilization is great for smooth footage. Dolby Vision support for high-contrast scenes adds a bit more depth to the visuals, which is a nice touch. The selfie camera is a 32MP shooter, capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps, but it’s the usual fare for selfies—not revolutionary but decent.
Software:
On the software front, the Vivo X200 Pro runs Android 15 with FunTouch OS on top. FunTouch OS offers a lot of customization options, from animations to dynamic effects. You can tweak nearly everything, which is great if you like to personalize your phone. However, it’s not as clean or user-friendly as ColorOS or OxygenOS, in my opinion. The settings menu can be a bit clunky, and I found myself hunting around for options.
Another downside is the bloatware. The X200 Pro comes preloaded with a ton of apps like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Trip.com, which you’ll probably want to uninstall right away. The app store is also full of unnecessary apps, adding to the clutter.
